LAPAN and the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning of the National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR/BPN) signed a cooperation manuscript at the Prona Hall of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Jakarta, on Monday (4/6). The manuscript was signed by the Chairman of LAPAN, Prof. Dr. Thomas Djamaluddin, and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Sofyan A. Djalil.
The cooperation between the two agencies is related to the utilization and development of aeronautics and space technology in the field of agrarian or land and spatial developments. Such signing is an effort of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning to facilitate the spatial or territory management of the Republic of Indonesia. The objective is to utilize the capabilities and resources of both agencies to utilize and develop aeronautics and space science and technology for agrarian and spatial development.
The cooperation of LAPAN and the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning includes the utilization and development of space and atmospheric science; remote sensing data and technology; aeronautics and space technology; human resources capacity building; scientific dissemination and publication; data and information exchange; assets certification; and the handling of LAPAN asset land issues.
As an implementation of the cooperation, the two agencies were also agreed to cooperate in the provision, processing, and utilization of remote sensing satellite data to support spatial planning and space utilization; exchange of data and information; and increased human resource competence by signing a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between LAPAN and Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning. The signing was done by Deputy Chairman for Remote Sensing Affair of LAPAN, Dr. Orbita Roswintiarti, and Director General of Spatial Planning of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Abdul Kamarzuki.
Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning in his speech said that in this year, all the land Indonesia region has been recorded using high-resolution satellite imagery. It is very useful, among others, for spatial and project work. In the future, the data of spatial statuses, such as ownership and its extent, can be found on the computer.
He hoped this cooperation will be utilized as much as possible by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial. Thus, in the coming year, the entire territory of Indonesia can be recorded.
In the signing ceremony, The Chairman of LAPAN said that LAPAN has high resolution and very high-resolution satellite imagery that can be used to see things at close range.
