Friday (09/06), students of International Relations Department of Cenderawasih University, Jayapura visited LAPAN Biak, Papua. The visit aims to increase their knowledge about LAPAN and its facilities, including the Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TTC) Earth Station of ISRO.
Such student visit was led by the Lecturer, Laus Rumayom. They were welcomed by Head of LAPAN Biak, Marwoto.
In his welcoming speech, Marwoto conveyed the information regarding the Law Number 21 of 2013 concerning Space. This law is the legal standing of all activities conducted by LAPAN. He also explained the main program of LAPAN, such as organizing various activities related to space science and atmosphere, satellite, rocket, aeronautics, and remote sensing. He also conveyed the vision and mission of LAPAN Biak as well as its activities undertaken at such center.
Meanwhile, Laus Rumayom, said that he invited his students to visit LAPAN in order for them to understand the subject they learn in class by watching the process directly, especially regarding the science in terms of national resilience relations with the development of existing technology. This group of students had the opportunity to visit TTC - ISRO Earth Station. They learnt how the operation and what the benefit of such station.
