ISTN Students Learn LAPAN Aeronautics Technology

National Institute of Science and Technology (Institut Sains dan Teknologi Nasional, ISTN) students, particularly from the Mathematics and Physics Student Association, visited the Aeronautics Technology Center at LAPAN Rumpin, Bogor, on Tuesday (09/05). They were very enthusiastic as is the first time for them visiting LAPAN.
Their visit was welcomed by the Head of Dissemination of Aeronautics Technology Center, Agus Bayu Utama. On this occasion, he invited the students to participate in joining Komurindo-Kombat. Komurindo-Kombat is an annual competition held by LAPAN. "Up until, now there is no representation of the ISTN participates in the competition. The selection process of such competition is currently in progress. We hope in 2018 ISTN students participate in Komurindo-Kombat," he hoped.
The students were greeted with the exposure of Iwan Noviano Putro, a researcher of Aeronautics Technology Center. He explained the products that have been successfully created. He also presented the results and achievements of LAPAN unmanned aircraft named LAPAN Surveillance UAV (LSU) and LAPAN Surveillance Aircraft (LSA). Explanations were displayed in the video documentation.
Iwan said," Aeronautics Technology Center requires university graduates, undergraduate to doctors, majoring in mathematics and physics to join LAPAN. Our hope is that one of the students at ISTN could join to contribute his knowledge in LAPAN research development process. "
The visit ended with a visit to the facilities in Aeronautics Technology Center guided by Triwidodo, a member of Aeronautics Technology Center dissemination team. In front of the participants, he explained each part of the R & D process in a detailed way. Several laboratories visited were subsonic tunnels, computer clusters, and avionics buildings. They also visited the ball building to see how is the data receiving of LAPAN-A3 Satellite.
